Pr Géraldine BOLEN
MSc – PhD – Dip. ECVDI
Graduated as Doctor in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Liège in 2001. After an internship in Small Animal Clinic of the University of Liège, Géraldine joined the Diagnostic Imaging Section of the same institution. She obtained a diploma (diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies en Sciences Vétérinaires) in 2006 by research in MRI of the equine feet. She completed also a 3-year residency program in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in Liège between 2004 and 2007. During this period, she did several externships in different universities of Switzerland, United States and England. In 2008, she was awarded, after examination, by the European Diploma in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (DipECVDI) by the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI). She defended her PhD thesis in september 2009 entitled “Contribution to the study of Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the equine foot: effects on the image of isolated limbs preservation, of magnetic field, of sequences and of section planes”. She is now senior lecturer in Diagnostic Imaging Section of the University of Liège. Géraldine is interested in all modalities of diagnostic imaging including radiology, ultrasound, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. She enjoys the wide variety of patients imaged ranging from dogs, cats, and horses to exotic pets/zoo animals, and food animals.
